Liberty Dance & Performing Arts is an independent Performing Arts Academy based in Coventry, which offers classes to children & young people in various disciplines of Dance and Performing Arts.
These include core dance classes (tap, ballet & modern), Musical Theatre, Circus Skills and more.
Liberty Dance & Performing Arts provides its pupils with a high standard of technical training during fun, enjoyable and professional classes, with an emphasis on building confidence whether that's during classes, shows or competitions.
The Principal, Vicki Rylatt-King began dancing at the age of 6, predominantly at Debut Academy based in Coventry.
Vicki studied all core subjects of dance to an advanced level, performed in annual shows locally, in the West End & throughout the UK, as well as competing in various competitions, always achieving a high standard.
Having a passion for performing, once Vicki had successfully completed her GCSE’s she began attending Coventry University Performing Arts and gained a Diploma in Performing Arts, (Dancing, Acting, Singing, Stage Design & Management).
Vicki then continued her education in Brighton to further her knowledge, and graduated in Physical Theatre.
Whilst in Brighton Vicki had the privilege of working and training with professional performers and theatre companies such as DV8 and performed in The Brighton Arts Festival. Vicki also gained experience in a professional capacity with ‘The Lenny and Morris’ Comedy Show.
Once Vicki graduated she returned to Coventry and worked as a Youth Worker and Education Assistant, specialising in work with children who have additional/special needs & or challenging behaviour.
During this time Vicki also began training for her Dance Teachers Qualification at Debut Academy and fully qualified as a Dance Teacher, (British Theatre Dance Association) in 2005.
In 2008 Vicki also began teaching Dance and Drama at a theatre school based in Hinckley, Leamington Spa and Stratford upon Avon and was soon given the title of Co-Principal.
In early 2010 Debut Academy closed and Vicki decided to open her own dance school. In August 2010 Liberty School of Dance opened & in 2019 Re-launched as Liberty Dance & Performing Arts.
